Star Wars: Battlefront – Elite Squadron on the DS is one of those rare handheld games that actually makes you feel like you're in the middle of a massive battle. You start off blasting droids or stormtroopers (depending on which side you pick), and before long, you're hopping into speeder bikes or even starfighters mid-mission—which still feels cool even on the small screen.
The space battles are a little clunky with the DS controls, but there’s something satisfying about dogfighting around a Star Destroyer while your squad shouts updates at you. Ground combat’s where it shines though—running through familiar locations like Hoth or Endor with a mix of blasters and lightsabers never gets old. Just don’t expect it to look as pretty as the console versions.
If you’ve ever wanted a portable Battlefront that actually tries to do it all, this is probably the closest you’ll get.
