Play Star Wars: Dark Forces Online
Blast through dim Imperial corridors as mercenary Kyle Katarn, ducking behind crates to pick off stormtroopers with that satisfyingly chunky blaster echo. The maze-like levels and flickering droid factories still nail that eerie Star Wars underworld vibe decades later.

Game Overview
Star Wars: Dark Forces was my first real taste of a proper FPS in the Star Wars universe—way before Battlefront or Jedi Outcast. You play as Kyle Katarn, a rogue-ish mercenary working for the Rebels, sneaking around Imperial bases and blasting stormtroopers with satisfyingly chunky blaster sounds. The levels feel surprisingly open for a '95 shooter—you can crouch, jump, even look up and down (which was weirdly rare back then).
The Dark Trooper Project stuff gives it a cool B-movie vibe, like you're uncovering some secret Imperial nonsense they really don’t want getting out. Some of the level designs are maze-like in that classic '90s way, but the atmosphere nails it—dim corridors, flickering lights, and those eerie droid factories. Just avoid the PlayStation port; the DOS version runs way smoother.
It’s janky by today’s standards, but there’s something about the mix of Star Wars nostalgia and solid shooter mechanics that still holds up. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a smuggler-turned-rebel causing chaos, this is where it started.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
