Play Street Fighter 5 Online

Picking Ryu feels like coming home until someone smacks you with a flashy new V-Trigger move—takes a few beatings to learn the rhythm. That moment when a Critical Art connects and the screen explodes? Chef’s kiss.

Game Overview

Okay, so Street Fighter V isn’t actually on SNES—someone mixed that up—but if you’re craving that classic 2D brawler feel with a modern polish, this is it. The first time I booted it up, I immediately went for Ryu (old habits die hard), only to get wrecked by some new V-Gauge mechanics I didn’t fully understand. Took a few matches to realize how much those little tweaks change the flow.

The roster’s a fun mix—you’ve got your usual suspects like Ken and Cammy, but then there’s F.A.N.G., who fights like a cartoon villain with poison tricks. Online matches can be punishing if you’re rusty, but even button-mashing with a friend on the couch feels satisfying. The animations are buttery, especially when you land a critical art and the camera goes wild. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time yelling at the screen.
