It’s got that classic MAME feel where the controls are tight once you get used to them, though good luck pulling off a super combo if you’re playing on a keyboard. The roster’s a great mix of old favorites and weirdos like Rolento with his pole vaulting nonsense. You’ll lose hours to rematches trying to master parries or landing that one perfect cross-up.
Still holds up as one of the best in the Alpha series—just don’t blame me when you start hearing the announcer yell “GAME OVER” in your sleep.
