Play Street Fighter III: New Generation Online

Street Fighter III throws you in with mostly new fighters—Alex’s raw power, Dudley’s slick boxing, Elena’s wild kicks—and that risky parry system where mistiming means eating a fistful of pain. Super Arts turn every match into a gamble between style and survival.

Game Overview

Street Fighter III: New Generation shook things up when it hit arcades—only Ryu and Ken made the cut from the old crew, and the rest? All new faces. You’ve got Alex, this burly American brawler who feels like he walked straight out of a back-alley fight, and Dudley, a proper British boxer who somehow makes a rose-tossing taunt look intimidating. Then there’s Elena, flipping around with Capoeira moves that’ll trip you up if you’re not careful.

The fighting feels familiar at first—fireballs, dragon punches, the usual—but then you realize you can parry attacks by tapping forward at just the right moment, which changes everything. Mess it up, though, and you’re eating a combo. Super Arts give each character their own flashy finishers, and some of them (looking at you, Oro) are just bizarre in the best way.

Gill’s still the worst to fight, though. Ice and fire at the same time? Come on.
