Game Overview

Sub Battle Simulator is one of those old MS-DOS games that somehow makes staring at a tiny sonar screen feel like the most intense naval thriller. You're basically a submarine captain from the 80s—no fancy 3D graphics, just blips on a grid and the constant dread of hearing enemy propellers getting closer. The first time I played, I panicked and fired all my torpedoes at once like an idiot. Spoiler: that doesn't end well.

What's cool is how much tension they packed into such a simple setup. You're silently adjusting depth, listening for enemy ships, and trying not to sweat when depth charges start exploding nearby. It's chess, but if chess had the occasional "oh crap" moment when you realize you've drifted right into an enemy's path. The controls take a minute to get used to (this is DOS, after all), but once it clicks, you'll be hooked on that slow-burn underwater warfare vibe.

If you ever played Battleship as a kid and wished it had more sweating involved, this is your game. Just don't blame me when you start hearing sonar pings in your sleep.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
