Game Overview
Super Battletank on the Game Boy is exactly what it sounds like—a tiny, chunky tank game that somehow makes pixelated warfare weirdly satisfying. You’ve got this top-down view of the battlefield, rolling around in your clunky tank, taking potshots at enemy units that look like they’re made of Lego bricks. The controls are simple (d-pad to move, buttons to shoot), but don’t let that fool you—some of those later missions get surprisingly tense.
It’s not going to win any awards for visuals now, but back in the day, this was the kind of game you’d play until your batteries died. There’s something oddly hypnotic about the way your tank lumbers across the screen, shells exploding in little bursts of pixels.
