Play Super Black Bass (Japan) Online

Toss your line into pixelated lakes, wrestle with fish that fight harder than they should, and try not to yell when a tournament-winning bass spits your hook last second. The janky controls feel weird until suddenly they don’t—then it’s just you and the frog lure against everything underwater.

Game Overview

Super Black Bass is one of those SNES fishing games that somehow makes reeling in pixelated fish way more intense than it should be. You start off at some quiet lake, picking your lure (the frog one worked best for me), and then it's just you versus whatever's lurking under that choppy water. The overhead view keeps things simple, but the tournaments get seriously competitive—like, "throw your controller" competitive when a big one gets away last second.

It's got that classic Hot-B jank where the controls feel a little stiff at first, but once you get the timing down for setting the hook, it clicks. Way better than the first Black Bass, though. Just don't expect fancy graphics—this is pure 16-bit fishing chaos with a surprising amount of strategy.
