Game Overview

Super Chinese World 3 is one of those weird, Japan-only SNES RPGs that never made it overseas—which is a shame, because it’s actually pretty fun once you get past the language barrier. Yeah, it’s got "China" in the title, but don’t expect anything super authentic—it’s more like a goofy, anime-style take on martial arts adventures.

You pick between two characters (a boy and girl, naturally) and jump into turn-based battles with a surprising amount of strategy. The sprites are chunky and colorful, and the dungeons have that classic 90s RPG feel—just enough puzzles to keep you moving, but not so hard you’ll get stuck forever. The music’s catchy too, if a little repetitive after a while.

It’s not a hidden masterpiece or anything, but if you’re into obscure retro RPGs, this one’s worth a look—just bring a guide if you don’t read Japanese.
