Game Overview

Super F1 Circus Gaiden is one of those SNES racers that doesn’t take itself too seriously—and that’s exactly why it’s so much fun. The moment you start, you’re hit with these bright, almost goofy visuals that make it feel like you’re racing through a theme park rather than a sterile F1 circuit. The handling’s surprisingly sharp, though—you can actually pull off these satisfying little drifts if you time it right.

What really sticks with me are the tracks. Some are based on real ones, but others just go wild with loops and weird obstacles, like someone mashed up F1 with a pinball machine. And the AI? They’re aggressive in the best way, swerving around like they’re actually trying to mess with you instead of following a script. The music’s this weird, upbeat synth thing that somehow works perfectly when you’re barreling into a tight corner.

If you’ve played the other F1 Circus games, this one tightens up the controls while keeping all the charm. It’s the kind of racer where you lose half an hour just because you keep saying “one more try” after spinning out on the last lap. Definitely worth digging up if you like your racing fast, colorful, and a little bit ridiculous.
