Game Overview

Super F1 Circus is one of those weird, wonderful SNES racers that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s like someone took Formula 1, cranked the absurdity to 11, and slapped on this bright, bouncy aesthetic that feels straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. The cars handle like they’re on springs, bouncing off walls and each other in the most ridiculous way possible. It’s chaotic, but in that "just one more race" kind of way.

The tracks are all exaggerated loops and corkscrews, and the AI drivers are hilariously aggressive—you’ll get sideswiped out of nowhere, but it never feels unfair, just part of the madness. There’s something oddly satisfying about nailing a drift around a hairpin turn while your car wobbles like it’s made of rubber. It’s not a deep sim by any means, but that’s the point. This is pure arcade fun with a weirdly charming ‘90s Japanese vibe.

If you’ve ever wanted to see F1 through the lens of a fever dream, this is it. The physics alone make it worth a try, especially if you’re into retro games that don’t take themselves too seriously.
