Super Mario 63 is one of those Flash games that somehow nails the classic Mario feel while doing its own weird thing. You’ve got the usual running and jumping, but then Mario suddenly has this spin attack, like a tiny, Italian tornado, and a stomp move that’s more of a dramatic butt-drop. Took me a minute to get used to pressing Z mid-air, but once it clicks, you’ll be bouncing off enemies like a pro.
Then there’s FLUDD, the water pack from Sunshine, except here it somehow turns into a janky jetpack? Spray water downward, and Mario just… floats. It shouldn’t work, but it does, and honestly, it’s kind of hilarious watching him wobble through the air like a deflating balloon. The levels mix old-school platforming with some surprisingly creative twists, just don’t question the physics too hard.
If you miss the weird charm of early 2000s Flash games, this one’s a solid time capsule.
