Super Mario Advance 2 is basically the SNES classic Super Mario World, but now you can stuff it in your pocket—which is dangerous because you’ll start playing "just one level" and suddenly it’s 2 AM. The controls feel just right, whether you’re bouncing off Koopas or accidentally yeeting Yoshi into a pit (sorry, buddy).
What I love is how much weird stuff is hiding in plain sight—like those invisible blocks you only find by jumping at random spots, or secret exits that lead to entirely new paths. And the cape feather? Still the best power-up ever. Nothing beats awkwardly flapping around like a confused seagull while stomping on Goombas mid-air.
Luigi’s in here too with his weird floaty physics, and there’s a Mario Bros. arcade minigame if you need a break from getting wrecked by Chargin’ Chucks. It’s the same game you remember, just with slightly worse music quality and the ability to ruin your sleep schedule anywhere.
