Game Overview
Super Mario Bros (JU) (h1) is one of those games that feels simple at first—just running and jumping—but gets surprisingly deep once you start pushing further. The first few levels ease you in with basic goombas and pits, but by world 3, the timing gets tight, and those hammer bros become a real nuisance.
I remember spending way too long trying to figure out the hidden warp zones, only to accidentally skip to world 8 and get wrecked by firebars. The controls are stiff by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about nailing a perfect run after a dozen tries.
Super Mario Bros (JU) (h1) still holds up as a solid platformer, even if some of the later levels feel unfairly punishing.
