Play Super Mario World Z (demo) Online
You kick shells like usual until a piranha plant fires diagonally—suddenly it’s Mario but not, and you’re grinning as you miss a jump thanks to slightly tweaked physics.

Super Mario World Z (demo)—yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like: classic Mario but with some sneaky new tricks. The first time I booted it up, I thought I knew what to expect—same old grassy hills, same Koopa shells to kick around. But then I ran into this weird piranha plant that spit fireballs diagonally, and suddenly I was back to feeling like a kid who’d just discovered Star Road for the first time.
It’s got all the SNES magic—those bouncy sound effects, the way Mario’s cape flutters when you dive—but the levels twist in ways that’ll make even veterans pause. Found a secret exit that led to some kind of ghost house remix? Of course I spent 20 minutes trying to recreate it. And yeah, I totally faceplanted into a pit because I forgot the demo tweaks the physics just enough to keep you on your toes. If you’ve ever hummed the underground theme absentmindedly, this’ll hit the spot.
Also, whoever decided to give Yoshi a new color palette deserves a raise.
