Super Metroid - Hollow Eve feels like slipping back into your favorite SNES game, but someone rearranged all the furniture while you were gone. The first time I booted it up, I recognized the familiar hum of the power suit—then immediately got lost in a new branching path I swear wasn’t there in the original. The lighting’s darker, the ambient noises creepier, and there’s this one room with a dripping sound effect that made me pause my emulator just to check my apartment wasn’t leaking.

Whoever made this clearly understood what made the original special.
