Ever played Super Metroid and thought, "This is great, but what if Samus moved like a caffeinated kangaroo?" That’s basically Vismund’s Sidehopper Special—a romhack where your main way of getting around is hijacking a bouncy enemy and turning Zebes into a pinball machine. One wrong jump sends you ricocheting into spikes, but when you nail a chain of ridiculous hops, it feels weirdly satisfying.

Somehow, it still feels like Metroid—just with way more accidental backflips into lava. The usual sequence-breaking tricks get even sillier when your movement’s this unpredictable. I spent 10 minutes laughing at my own failures before realizing I could bounce off enemies to skip whole sections. Not sure if it’s genius or madness, but it’s definitely both.
