Super Troll Islands is one of those weird little SNES platformers that somehow sticks with you. You pick from four trolls—each with their own weird charm—and just start stomping around these colorful, slightly janky levels. The goal? Clear this creepy purple mist by literally walking over it, which sounds simple until you realize some spots only certain trolls can reach.
It’s got that early ‘90s vibe where the controls feel a bit stiff at first, but you get used to it. The music’s oddly catchy too, in that repetitive-but-endearing way. I kept going back just to see what bizarre level theme they’d throw at me next—one minute you’re in a jungle, the next you’re hopping across floating sushi plates. Not a masterpiece, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about cleaning up the whole island tile by tile.
