Game Overview
Super Turrican 2 is one of those SNES games that still makes me wonder how they pulled it off. The first thing you notice is the insane amount of voice samples—your character actually shouts when you fire, which somehow never gets old. And then there’s the Mode 7 effects, twisting levels into these wild pseudo-3D spaces while you’re blasting through waves of enemies.
It’s fast, chaotic, and somehow still smooth even when the screen’s packed with explosions. The Dolby Surround support was way ahead of its time too—if you’ve got the setup for it, the audio alone makes this feel like a late-gen SNES flex. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
