Syvalion is one of those weird, flashy arcade ports that makes you go, "Wait, what is this?" at first glance. You control this golden dragon with a body that bends like a snake, weaving through tight corridors while blasting everything in sight. The whole thing feels like someone took a shoot 'em up and mashed it up with Snake—except way prettier, with all that metallic sheen and neon explosions.
It’s tougher than it looks, though. The dragon’s tail follows your movements exactly, so if you’re not careful, you’ll wrap yourself into a corner and get wrecked. The SNES version tones down the arcade’s brutal difficulty a bit, but it’s still the kind of game where you’ll die a lot before figuring out the patterns. Definitely a niche pick, but if you like oddball shmups with a twist, it’s worth a shot.
