Play Tamper Online
Navigate mazes, place bombs to clear blocks and enemies, and outsmart foes while avoiding traps in this classic MS-DOS game, Tamper.
Tamper is one of those MS-DOS classics that came out in the early 1990s, part of a wave of shareware games that thrived on simplicity and challenge. I don’t recall the developer offhand, but it fits right in with the era’s straightforward, no-frills approach to gameplay. You’re not getting elaborate cutscenes or deep lore here; it’s just you, a maze, and some very determined enemies.
You control a small character navigating maze-like levels, placing bombs to destroy blocks and eliminate enemies. The main goal is to clear each screen of all adversaries while avoiding getting trapped or overrun. Signature mechanics include strategic bomb placement to open paths or create chain reactions, and careful timing to outmaneuver enemies that home in on your position. The pacing is tense; one wrong move can corner you instantly, and the difficulty escalates quickly. It feels like a tense game of cat and mouse where every decision matters right up to the last second.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
