Play Tarzan : L'Appel de la Jungle Online

Swinging vines feels weighty and satisfying—time your jumps wrong and you’ll eat bark, but nail it and you’re flying through the canopy dodging rhinos and waterfalls. Surprisingly fluid for a GBA game, with little jungle details that pull you in.

Game Overview

I picked up Tarzan: L'Appel de la Jungle on Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a time when licensed platformers were everywhere. Ubi Soft published it, and it fit right in with the era's straightforward action adventures. It wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, just offering a solid jungle romp.

You control Tarzan, moving through dense forests and ancient ruins, mostly from left to right. The main goal is to rescue Jane from poachers, which involves navigating tricky platforms and fighting animals and hunters. The signature mechanics are vine swinging, which requires precise timing to avoid falling or hitting obstacles, and simple combat with punches and a slide attack. The pacing is brisk, with some challenging jumps that demand practice. It feels responsive and quick, making each successful swing or defeated enemy genuinely satisfying.
