Taxi 2 on the Game Boy Color is basically what happens when you take the chaos of those French action-comedy movies and cram it into a tiny cartridge. You're a cab driver with zero regard for traffic laws, weaving through Paris like you're being chased by the cops—except you're just trying to get some tourist to the Eiffel Tower before the timer runs out.
The controls are simple (left, right, gas, brake), but the real challenge comes from the ridiculous shortcuts you'll take—hopping sidewalks, squeezing between buses, and praying your nitro boost lasts just a few more seconds. The pixelated pedestrians actually dive out of the way, which never gets old. And yeah, your passengers scream if you crash, but that’s half the fun.
It’s not the deepest racer, but for a GBC game, it nails the arcade feel. You’ll either love it or wonder why France let this exist. Either way, it’s a weird little time capsule.
