Play Teddy Boy Online
Run and jump through rooms, shoot monsters from blocks, collect creature fragments, and avoid crumbling floors in this quirky platformer from 1985.
Teddy Boy came out for the Sega Master System in 1985, developed and published by Sega. It was one of the earlier titles for the system, a time when developers were still figuring out what worked on the new hardware, and it has a particular, slightly odd charm because of that.
You control a boy in a striped shirt who runs and jumps through single-screen rooms, shooting monsters that pop out of numbered blocks. Your main goal is to clear each stage by destroying all the enemies, but the real trick is collecting the little creature fragments they leave behind before a timer runs out and they turn into nasty gremlins that chase you. The floors are often unstable, crumbling away if you stand on them too long, which keeps you moving. It feels frantic and a little messy, like you're always just barely keeping everything under control.
