Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus on GBA is exactly what you'd want from a TMNT game—fast, chaotic, and packed with that signature turtle charm. You pick your favorite brother (Leo’s my go-to, but Raph’s extra aggression is tempting) and dive straight into smashing Foot Clan goons across New York’s sewers and rooftops. The controls feel surprisingly tight for a GBA brawler, letting you pull off combos without button-mashing too much.

What I love is how it mixes things up—one minute you’re clearing waves of enemies, the next you’re dodging spike traps or jumping between floating platforms. The pixel art nails the 2003 show’s style, and the co-op mode is a blast if you’ve got a friend around (though good luck sharing a GBA screen). Some of the later bosses really make you work for it, especially if you’re stubborn like me and refuse to switch turtles mid-fight. It’s not perfect—the camera occasionally fights you—but it’s way more fun than most licensed games from that era.
