Play The 7th Guest Online
Creepy FMV ghosts taunt you while you solve bizarre puzzles in a haunted mansion—Stauf’s insults sting worse than the brain-melting riddles.

Game Overview
Okay, so The 7th Guest is this weird, creepy puzzle game from the early '90s where you’re basically trapped in a haunted mansion with a bunch of ghosts who love messing with you. The whole thing feels like a B-movie—live-action cutscenes, cheesy acting, and this unsettling toy maker named Stauf who keeps popping up to insult you whenever you screw up a puzzle. (Seriously, the guy’s relentless.)
You wander room to room solving these logic puzzles—some are straightforward, like dividing a cake evenly, but others? Brutal. There’s this one Othello match against an AI that still gives me nightmares. And the telescope puzzle where you have to arrange floating letters into a sentence? Yeah, good luck with that.
What’s cool is how the story unfolds through these grainy FMV clips. It’s all murder, betrayal, and dark secrets—way darker than I expected from a game where half the puzzles involve cake. There’s even a hint book if you get stuck, though Stauf might judge you for using it. (Like he’s one to talk.)
Fun fact: This was one of the first games only on CD-ROM because it was too big for floppies. You can tell they were flexing with the tech—pre-rendered 3D, full-motion video, the works. It’s janky by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly charming about it. Just don’t expect to finish without a few frustrated screams.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
