I first played The Amazing Spider-Man on MS-DOS back in the early 90s, when Paragon Software released it as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games lineup. It was a time when superhero games were still finding their footing, and this one captured that era's rough but earnest spirit. You could tell it was made with love for the character, even if the technology of the day limited what it could do.

You control Spider-Man through a series of side-scrolling stages, swinging from webs and punching through villains like Mysterio's goons. The main goal is to stop the villain's plot, moving screen by screen while collecting items and avoiding hazards. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the controls take getting used to; Spidey moves with a certain stiffness that feels both awkward and oddly authentic. Despite the challenge, there's a real satisfaction in mastering the web-swinging and clearing each stage.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
