I first came across The Burps in a collection of MS-DOS Classic Games, though it was never officially released as part of a numbered series. It was one of those quirky shareware titles from the early '90s, developed by a small team whose name I can't quite recall now. Back then, you'd find it on a floppy disk tucked inside a computer magazine, and it fit right in with the era's experimental, low-budget spirit.

You control a character whose primary ability is burping to jump and interact with objects. The goal is to navigate through a series of maze-like rooms, collecting items while avoiding obstacles. The burp mechanic is central; you use it to bounce off soda cans, knock over enemies, and sometimes even solve simple puzzles. The controls are intentionally awkward, which makes every movement feel unpredictable. It's a short game, but the difficulty comes from mastering the timing of each belch. Playing it feels like trying to walk a dog that's constantly surprised by its own tail.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
