Game Overview

I first encountered The Computer Quiz as part of the 0 MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a simple text-based trivia game that felt right at home on a machine running DOS. There was no flashy developer name attached, just a straightforward program that asked questions and expected typed answers, perfectly capturing the utilitarian spirit of early home computing.

You don't control a character; you just type your answers directly into the command line. The main objective is to answer a series of multiple-choice questions correctly, covering hardware specs, programming languages, and early computer history. The game presents one question at a time, and you must type the letter of your chosen answer to proceed. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can spike with some deeply technical or era-specific questions. It feels like taking a pop quiz written by a computer science professor from 1985.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
