Play The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (U)(Mode7) Online

You pick Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli and slash through waves of orcs—Legolas shreds enemies stupid fast, while Gimli’s axe swings feel like hitting a home run with a sledgehammer. The pixel art nails Moria’s gloom and Helm’s Deep’s chaos, even if the music sounds like a MIDI file left in the rain.

Game Overview

If you're into Lord of the Rings and miss the early 2000s vibe, this GBA adaptation of The Two Towers is a fun little hack-and-slash. You get to play as Aragorn, Legolas, or Gimli, cutting through orcs in levels that loosely follow the movies—Moria, Helm's Deep, all the big moments. The pixel art actually holds up, especially the way they pulled off Balin's tomb with that eerie GBA color palette.

Combat's simple but satisfying—mash attack, occasionally block or use a special move. Legolas feels way overpowered (as he should), but Gimli's slow swings have this weirdly satisfying crunch to them. Just don't expect deep RPG mechanics—it's mostly about clearing waves while Howard Shore's soundtrack tries its best on the GBA's tinny speakers.

Honestly, it's one of those licensed games that could've been terrible but somehow works. Perfect for a quick nostalgia hit between meetings.
