I first played The Outfoxies on MAME 0.243, a 1995 arcade release from Namco. It came out during a time when fighting games were everywhere, but this one stood apart with its chaotic, stage-based brawling instead of one-on-one duels. The game never got the attention of bigger titles, but it had a strange charm that stuck with me.
You control one of several assassins, each with a unique weapon, and your goal is to eliminate the others across a series of single-screen arenas. The stages are full of interactive hazards; you can drop chandeliers on opponents, avoid oncoming trains, or kick explosive barrels into the fray. Matches are fast and unpredictable, with the environment often deciding the winner. It feels like a frantic, improvised fight where anything can happen.
