Game Overview

Ocean Software released The Untouchables on MS-DOS in 1989, a game based on the film of the same name. It arrived during a period when many movie tie-ins attempted to translate cinematic action into pixelated, side-scrolling adventures, and it stood out for its gritty, urban setting and straightforward approach to law enforcement gameplay.

You control Eliot Ness, moving screen by screen through Chicago's streets and buildings, clearing out gangsters with your pistol. The main objective is to dismantle Al Capone's criminal empire by completing missions that involve raiding warehouses, rescuing hostages, and engaging in shootouts. Signature mechanics include dodging enemy fire in narrow alleys, occasional driving sequences where you shoot from a moving car, and navigating multi-level structures to reach key targets. The pacing is tense, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with limited lives and precise timing required to avoid bullets. It feels raw and immediate, pulling you into each risky confrontation with a satisfying sense of momentum.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
