Theatre of War came out in 2007 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by 1C Company. It was a solid entry in the era of strategy games that demanded patience and attention, fitting right in with other thoughtful, simulation-heavy titles from that period.
You control squads of infantry, tanks, and support units across detailed battlefields, with the main objective being to capture key points or eliminate enemy forces. The game uses a realistic fog of war system that hides enemy movements until your units spot them, and terrain plays a huge role in how your vehicles and troops perform. Missions are slow and methodical; rushing ahead usually ends with your units ambushed and destroyed. It feels like a careful, nerve-wracking chess match where every decision has weight.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
