Game Overview
Time Soldiers is this weirdly fun little shooter where you’re basically hopping through time to save your squad. It’s a port of an old arcade game, so expect that classic dual-stick chaos—except on the Master System, you’re stuck with a D-pad and buttons, which makes dodging bullets a bit of a workout.
You start off in some prehistoric jungle getting swarmed by cavemen with spears, then suddenly you’re in medieval times getting shot at by archers. The levels flip between eras fast, and the enemies keep you moving. The hit detection’s a little janky, but once you get the rhythm of it, blasting through waves of soldiers and dinosaurs (yeah, dinosaurs) feels pretty satisfying.
It’s not the deepest shooter out there, but there’s something charming about how unapologetically 80s it is. Just don’t expect the Master System version to be as smooth as the arcade original.
