Game Overview

Time Trax is one of those weird little SNES gems where you play as Darien, a time cop zipping between eras to fix messed-up history. The pixel art’s surprisingly slick—you start off in some futuristic city before jumping to medieval castles and wild west towns, blasting anomalies with this weird glove weapon. Feels like a Saturday morning cartoon with way more explosions.

Combat’s simple but satisfying—you’ve got a charge shot and this dash move that makes dodging enemy fire way more fun than it should be. First time I played, I got wrecked by a rogue knight in level two because I kept trying to face-tank everything. Learned that lesson fast.

It’s not perfect (the platforming can be janky), but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it is. You’ll know within the first 10 minutes if it’s your thing.
