Play Time Trax Online
You’re a time-traveling cop beating up 90s criminals with weird future tech—stun pellets, hologram nannies, and jet-skis included. Clunky but oddly charming once you embrace the jank.

Time Trax came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Malibu Games. It was one of those mid-90s action platformers that tried to stand out with a sci-fi premise, riding the wave of similar titles that mixed shooting and exploration. The game doesn't get talked about much now, but it had a certain presence on the shelf back then.
You play as Darien Lambert, a lawman from the future sent to the present day to capture fugitives who've escaped into the past. You move through levels screen by screen, using a chargeable energy weapon and various gadgets like stun pellets and holographic decoys to subdue enemies. The main goal is to find and capture each target before progressing; some stages let you ride a hoverbike for faster travel. The pacing is uneven, with moments of careful exploration interrupted by sudden enemy attacks, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. It feels like a product of its time, ambitious but held together with a few loose screws.
