Konami's TMNT for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2003, a time when licensed games were plentiful and often experimental. It was a side-scrolling action game that felt right at home on the handheld, offering a straightforward but solid take on the Turtles' universe without trying to reinvent the wheel.

You control one of the four Turtles, switching between them to use their unique weapons and special moves as you fight through waves of Foot Soldiers and other enemies. The main goal is to progress screen by screen, clearing areas and defeating bosses to advance the story. You break open crates to collect coins for temporary upgrades, and the combat relies on simple combos and timely dodges. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike during boss fights, but it never feels unfair. It captures the feeling of a tense, slightly fragmented team dynamic, where every fight matters and resources feel scarce.
