I picked up Tom & Jerry in Mouse Attacks! back when it came out on the Game Boy Color in 2000. It was published by NewKidCo, one of those many licensed games that filled the shelves during the handheld's peak. The game puts you right into the middle of that classic cartoon rivalry, but with a twist; this time, Jerry is on the offensive.

You control Jerry, and your goal is to navigate through a series of household rooms, setting traps for Tom and collecting cheese along the way. The gameplay involves screen by screen exploration, where you place items like marbles or anvils to trip up the cat. You also use a slingshot for direct attacks, aiming carefully to stun him temporarily. The pacing is brisk, and some sections can get tricky with Tom constantly on your tail. It feels satisfying to outsmart him with a well placed trap and watch him tumble.
