I picked up Tom and Jerry: Mouse Hunt for the Game Boy Color back in 1999. It was developed by Warthog, and it fit right in with the kind of colorful, cartoon-inspired platformers that were common on the system at the time. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just drops you straight into the familiar, frantic world of the cat and mouse duo.

You play as Jerry, and your goal is to collect pieces of cheese scattered across each stage while avoiding Tom. The main mechanics involve setting traps, like placing a rake or a banana peel in Tom's path, and using objects in the environment to outsmart him. You move screen by screen, and the pacing is pretty relentless; Tom is persistent, and the levels demand quick thinking. It feels satisfying to pull off a clever trap and watch him stumble, giving you just enough time to grab the cheese and move on.
