Play Tony Hawk's American Sk8land (E) Online
Skate around vibrant levels, pull off tricks, complete challenges, and unlock new gear in this portable skateboarding adventure.
Tony Hawk's American Sk8land came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision. It was one of the better looking 3D-style games on the system, arriving late in the GBA's life when developers were really pushing what the hardware could do. It felt like a proper, if scaled down, entry in the Tony Hawk series, not just a quick portable spin-off.
You control a custom skater, building their skills by completing missions across interconnected levels like a mall, a school, and the canals of Los Angeles. The main goal is to restore the run-down Sk8land park by earning enough money and respect. Signature mechanics include chaining tricks together to build your special meter, which lets you pull off even bigger moves, and finding hidden DVDs and stat points to improve your character. The pacing is fast, and some goals require precise timing, but it never feels unfair. Grinding a perfect line and nailing a long combo gives a real sense of flow.
