Play Tony Hawk's American Sk8land Online
You create a neon-clad skater, then grind and flip through abandoned lots while NPCs dare you to pull off increasingly wild stunts—somehow it all works on the tiny GBA screen.

Tony Hawk's American Sk8land on the GBA is basically a pocket-sized version of American Wasteland, and it’s way more fun than it has any right to be on a tiny screen. You start by creating your own skater—mine always ends up looking like a neon disaster—and then get pulled into this crew trying to revive an abandoned skate park. Most of the time you're rolling around talking to NPCs who give you ridiculous stunt challenges, like grinding three rails in a row or pulling off a perfect 360 flip over a gap.
The controls take some getting used to (good luck nailing manuals at first), but once it clicks, you’ll be chaining tricks like crazy. Classic mode lets you play as real skaters—I always default to Tony himself—just shredding for high scores against the clock. And yeah, there’s multiplayer if you’ve got friends with link cables, though good luck finding anyone who still has those lying around. The levels are scaled-down versions of the console ones, but they’ve got that same chaotic energy where you’re constantly spotting new lines to try. It’s impressive how much they crammed into a GBA cart.
