Play Tony Hawk's American Sk8land Online
Skate around as your custom skater, complete missions, link tricks for special moves, and try to save the local skatepark in Tony Hawk's American Sk8land on Game Boy Advance.
Tony Hawk's American Sk8land came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was a late release for the system, a time when developers had really learned how to push the hardware. This one stood out because it felt like a proper Tony Hawk game, not a stripped-down portable version.
You control a custom skater, exploring interconnected levels to complete missions for locals and pros. The main goal is to earn enough respect to save a local skatepark from being shut down. Signature mechanics include building your special meter by linking tricks, then using that special to perform exaggerated, point-heavy moves. You also collect letters to spell SKATE in each level, a series staple. The pacing is fast, demanding quick reflexes to maintain combos across rails and ramps. It feels surprisingly fluid and responsive, a real accomplishment for a handheld of its time.
