Top Gun: Firestorm on the Game Boy Color is basically the closest you'll get to feeling like a fighter pilot while squinting at a tiny screen. You're thrown right into the action—dodging missiles, weaving through canyons, and trying not to crash while lining up shots. The controls are surprisingly smooth for a GBC game, though you'll definitely fumble a bit at first when switching between missiles and guns.

It's got that classic arcade flight combat vibe, just scaled down. No Kenny Loggins blasting in the background (obviously), but the missions ramp up fast, and some of those later dogfights get seriously tense. I kept getting wrecked by the third mission until I figured out how to actually use the radar properly.

If you're into retro handheld games or just miss the days when flight sims didn't need a 500-page manual, this one's a solid pick. Just don't expect Goose to bail you out when you inevitably clip a wing.
