Game Overview

Tournament Tennis was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several titles without a specific number. Developed by Chris Gray and published by Electronic Arts, it arrived during a period when sports simulations on PC were still finding their footing, offering a straightforward take on the sport without the graphical flair of later years.

You control a single tennis player from a behind-the-court perspective, moving them with the arrow keys and timing your swings to return the ball. The main objective is to win matches by outscoring opponents in sets, relying on careful positioning and shot timing rather than complex moves. Signature mechanics include aiming shots to different parts of the court by holding a direction while swinging, and a serve system where power and placement depend on precise button presses. The pacing is brisk, with long rallies that demand quick reflexes, and the AI difficulty can feel unforgiving as matches progress. It feels like a test of patience and timing, where every point is earned through concentration.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
