Transylvania I came out in 1982, published by Polarware as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series. It was a text adventure with some graphics, typical for the era when games relied more on imagination and simple visuals than on detailed art or sound. You played a hero trying to rescue a princess from Dracula's castle, and it fit right in with other early adventure titles that mixed fantasy and horror elements.

You control your character through typed commands, moving screen by screen through forests, caves, and the castle itself. The main goal is to find items, avoid or defeat monsters like werewolves and vampires, and solve puzzles to progress. The game has a real-time element; certain events happen after a set number of moves, which adds tension. It's challenging, partly because some solutions are obscure and the parser can be unforgiving. Playing it feels like piecing together a dangerous, slightly unpredictable story where every decision matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
