Play TV Sports - Basketball Online
Control your team, cycle through players, set up plays, manage fatigue, and outscore your opponent in this strategic basketball simulation.

TV Sports Basketball came out in 1990 as part of Cinemaware's MS-DOS Classic Games lineup. It was a time when sports simulations were just starting to find their footing on home computers, and this one tried to capture the feel of a televised broadcast. The presentation was a big part of its identity, with stat overlays and commentary that made it stand out from simpler arcade basketball titles of the era.
You control all five players on your team, cycling through them to handle the ball, set up plays, and take shots. The main objective is to outscore the computer opponent across four quarters of play. Signature mechanics include the strategic use of timeouts to adjust your team's play style, managing player fatigue to avoid sloppy mistakes, and executing specific set plays rather than just freelancing. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, and the difficulty can spike sharply if you don't pay attention to your players' energy levels. It feels like a thoughtful, almost chess-like approach to basketball, where every possession requires a plan.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
