Game Overview

Twin Falcons came out in 1992 as an arcade cabinet release from Skyline Entertainment. It was part of that wave of shooters that tried to stand out with a unique hook, something to pull you in after you'd seen so many variations on the formula. The cabinet itself wasn't especially common, but when you found one, it usually had someone already hunched over the controls.

You pilot a small, agile fighter that can swap between two primary weapons on the fly: one is optimized for air targets, the other for ground forces. The core challenge is managing that swap under pressure, because enemies flood the screen with patterned bullets and you need the right tool at the right moment. Your objective is simply to survive as long as possible, racking up points by clearing waves of enemies and destroying larger mid-bosses. The pacing is relentless; you are constantly making micro-adjustments to your position while toggling weapons, and the difficulty spikes sharply after the first few stages. It feels like a high-wire act where one mistimed button press sends everything crashing down.
