Play U.N Online
Pick your pilot, dodge bullets, and earn cash to upgrade your plane—those massive bosses won’t go down easy.

U.N. Squadron came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that wave of arcade-style shooters that felt right at home on the system, known for tight controls and bright, detailed graphics. The game was based on a manga called Area 88, but you didn't need to know the source material to jump into the cockpit.
You choose one of three mercenary pilots, each with a unique starting aircraft, and fly through side-scrolling stages blasting enemy fighters, tanks, and ships. The main goal is to complete missions, survive the relentless enemy fire, and defeat the screen-filling bosses waiting at the end of each level. A key mechanic is earning money from destroyed enemies to purchase better planes and weapons between stages, which adds a strategic layer to the usual run-and-gun action. The pacing is fast and the difficulty is steep, demanding precise movement and quick reflexes to navigate the dense bullet patterns. It feels like a constant, tense battle for survival where every credit earned is a hard-won advantage.
