Game Overview

Ugh! came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Egosoft. It was one of those early 90s PC titles that felt experimental, built on simple mechanics and a quirky premise rather than flashy graphics or a complex story. You played it on a clunky monitor, probably with a keyboard that clacked louder than the game's sound effects.

You control a caveman piloting a primitive, flapping helicopter made of sticks and stone. Your main goal is to fly from left to right across a single screen, avoiding pterodactyls and other prehistoric nuisances while gathering food. You do this by hurling rocks at palm trees to knock down coconuts, which you must then carefully land to collect. The helicopter is fragile; crash land or let your pilot get too tired from constant flapping, and the whole thing falls apart. It's a game of precise, patient movement and timing, and it feels both absurd and strangely tense trying to keep your rickety aircraft in the air.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
