Game Overview

Ultima 7 drops you back into Britannia after two centuries, and man, things have gotten weird. The Fellowship’s got everyone acting like cultists, there’s bloodstains at every shrine, and some smug voice calling itself the Guardian won’t stop taunting you. You’ll bump into old allies—Iolo, Shamino, Dupre—but even they’re acting off at first. The world feels alive in a way most SNES games don’t: pick up brooms, bake bread, or just watch NPCs go about their day before you get sucked into the murder mystery.

Combat’s real-time now, which takes some getting used to—your party auto-attacks while you frantically adjust their tactics mid-fight. The interface is slick for a console port, with mouse-style controls that actually work on a gamepad. And yeah, you can spend hours just poking at random objects (try stealing the mayor’s pants—trust me). It’s janky in places, but the sheer depth makes up for it. Just don’t expect the plot to hold your hand.
