Ultima III – Exodus on the Amiga is one of those old-school RPGs that feels both punishing and rewarding at the same time. You start off weak, barely able to take down a rat, but slowly build up your party with better gear and spells. The world’s huge for its time, with towns to explore, dungeons that’ll make you curse at your own map-drawing skills, and this looming threat of Exodus you’re supposed to stop—eventually.

The combat’s turn-based but weirdly fast-paced once you get the hang of it, and the music (at least on the Amiga) has this eerie charm that sticks with you. Just don’t expect hand-holding—half the fun is figuring out what the heck you’re even supposed to do next. If you’ve got patience for retro quirks, it’s a classic worth sinking some time into.
